The Next Direction Choral Leadership Conference is an opportunity for you to explore what it means to be a choral conductor and a music educator.

• Dates: July 23-26, 2019

• Event Site: Virginia Wesleyan University - Virginia Beach

• Headline clinicians: 

  • High School track - Dr. Shane Lynch (Washington & Lee University)

  • Collegiate track - Dr. Lisa Billingham (George Mason University)

• Registration Deadline: May 1, 2019 - midnight
  Accepted students will be notified by May 15, 2019.

• Cost: $350
  The $350 conference fee covers all housing, meal, and material costs.  Transportation to and from the conference is not covered and is the sole responsibility of each participant.

• State-sponsored scholarships:  Several states are offering NextDirection scholarships.  If you receive one of these scholarships, NextDirection Virginia will match your scholarship amount up to the total cost of the conference ($350).

• Two students from Virginia will be chosen for a full scholarship to this conference, provided by the Virginia Chapter of ACDA, covering the fees. The scholarship winner is still responsible for transportation costs. We encourage applicants to consider ways to fundraise so that you can apply to attend with or without the scholarship!
