Chad A. Steffey is a doctoral student at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where he studies choral conducting with Dr. Stan Engebretson and Dr. Lisa Billingham. At George Mason he has served as the Associate Conductor of the University Singers and as Adjunct Professor of Music in Aural Skills and Music Fundamentals. Currently, Chad is the interim choral director at JEB Stuart High School in Falls Church, Virginia.

Chad served for 20 years on active duty as a percussionist and conductor in the United States Air Force Band program. From 1999-2004, he was the Director of the U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants and a staff conductor with the United States Air Force Band in Washington, DC. From 2004-2008 he was the commander and conductor of the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

Chad currently serves as musician-in-residence at St. Peter’s in The Woods Episcopal Church in Fairfax Station, Virginia, where he composes liturgical music and leads several ensembles.

Chad is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in percussion performance and music theory in 1991. In 1993, he earned the Master of Music in percussion performance from The Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.
