Middle School Honor Choir Auditions 2017

Tuesday, January 24, 2017 (All day)

What is the All-Virginia Middle School Honor Choir?

The All-Virginia Middle School Honor Choir is a gathering of the best singers from grades 6- 8 from the entire Commonwealth of Virginia.

How do I apply?

You have to be sponsored by a member of the American Choral Directors Association. This could be your school’s chorus director, church’s music minister, or community choir director. He or she will record you singing three things: a major scale, the first verse of America, and a minute of an approved song. Professional judges will then score that audition and the highest scores will be selected for the event.

Deadline for Online Audition Submission: January 24, 2017

Clarification on the Deadline and Snow Days:

The deadline will not be extended unless snows days fall betwen January 16 and January 24.

Important Technical Note:

When naming your mp3 files following the protocol, some of you may find your computer will not let you name the song file. This is because ".song" is a file extension and a file cannot have two file extensions like ".song.mp3".  If, and only if, this happens to you use a hyphen instead as shown (only for the song file)

MC.S1.Doe.Jane-song.mp3

If you have already submitted, no need to change things.
